Uppsala Plastic Surgery Ultrasound Course is an international course dedicated to the use of ultrasound in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

The course provides a forum for lectures, discussions, and exchange of the latest advances in clinical ultrasound applications, with invited renowned international faculty and keynote speakers.

The course is highly interactive and combines theoretical sessions with hands-on training. It involves different areas of clinical application within plastic surgery and allows participants to gain practical skills relevant for everyday clinical practice.

UPUC brings together plastic surgeons and other clinicians interested in ultrasound-guided procedures and diagnostic imaging and offers opportunities for professional exchange in the academic setting of Uppsala, Sweden.

Program

4–6 November 2026, Uppsala University Hospital

Day 1 – Fundamentals

A focused afternoon and evening session introducing ultrasound in plastic surgery, covering basic principles, equipment and image interpretation, followed by introductory hands-on training and an informal course dinner for networking.

Day 2 – Reconstructive and aesthetic applications

A full day dedicated to clinical applications of ultrasound in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, with short lectures and extensive small-group hands-on training focused on flap surgery, facial palsy, breast surgery and implant-related issues.

Day 3 – Lymphatic and soft-tissue focus

A short day concentrating on ultrasound of lymph nodes, lymphatic surgery and soft-tissue lesions, including final practical sessions, course assessment and closing feedback.
