Collaboration ATMP center
Collaboration takes place at regional, national and international level.
In addition to local and regional work to strengthen the Uppsala region's work on ATMPs, extensive work is also being done nationally in collaboration with all university hospitals and universities, as well as through a number of national initiatives (see some examples below). Cooperation also takes place with international actors.
Regional Collaborations
Karolinska ATMP Centre
In 2025, the Uppsala ATMP Centre and the Karolinska ATMP Centre took an important step together for the patients of the future. By signing a letter of intent, we are deepening our collaboration on advanced therapies – with the goal of giving more patients access to groundbreaking treatments that make a real difference.
This partnership is based on a shared conviction: that when we share knowledge, experience and courage, we can together push the boundaries of what healthcare can achieve.
In connection with the letter of intent, a joint report was produced describing ATMP activities in Uppsala-Stockholm.
The letter of intent is fully in line with the previous agreement between Stockholm and Uppsala – the Life Science Cluster – and strengthens the regions' role as a joint force for medical innovation, development and optimism about the future.
National initiatives

The network serves as a forum where various needs and issues related to university hospitals' work with ATMPs can be discussed and addressed. The network also publishes a list of all clinical ATMP trials in Sweden (updated twice a year).
SWECARNET
