Our mission is to provide specialized psychiatric treatment to children and young people adults with mental health issues or illness. We create opportunity for change.

 

Among the children and adolescents that come to us, some are depressed or are suffering from anxiety. Some have disabilities and may have difficulty working with others and find it hard to cope in everyday life.

How to reach us
You can call directly to our free Phone Counselling which is available around the clock, 24 hours a day 7 days of the week. You'll find our phone number on the top right of this page.

Call the Phone Counselling when:

  • You as a child or youth have questions or concerns about how you are feeling.
  • You, the parent, guardian, or relative is worried about a child's mental health.
  • A child or youth is in need of urgent psychiatric assessment.


This is also available for:

  • Those whom in their work or otherwise come in contact with children and young people; and has questions about children and adolescent mental health.


You can remain anonymous throughout the phone call if you wish.


The child and adolescent psychiatric department provides care for children and adolescents aged up to 18 years who live in Uppsala county or the extended region. The department takes responsibility for children or adolescents with a psychiatric assessment indicating that they have or are at serious risk of developing a psychiatric disorder.

The work of the department is carried out mainly as outpatient care, and includes effective liaison with parents, the school's student welfare service, neighbourhood health care, and social services.
