Environmental ceritification
We have environmental certification.
The University Hospital pursues environmental work in accordance with the international standard ISO 14 001, and the European ordinance EMAS.Certification means that we have a carefully thought-out and well functioning system for pursuing effective environmental improvement work.
Hospital Director Lennart Persson believes that everyone benefits from conscious, effective environmental work. "Since health and environmental issues often go hand in hand, it is clear that as a Health-Promoting Hospital we need to take environmental issues seriously," he says. "We're very pleased to see that there is a broad level of support among the staff on these issues."
He also considers it a work environment issue; making sure that the hospital is as safe as possible in relation to handling of chemicals, for example.
