Our Purpose

We receive patients aged 15 years and older with abdominal, head and skeletal injuries. For medical emergencies, we treat patients 18 years and older.

Patients with life‑threatening conditions who arrive by ambulance are admitted to the Emergency Department regardless of age.

Medical Advice by Telephone

By calling 1177, you can speak with a registered nurse for medical advice. You only pay for the cost of the call.
The service is available nationwide, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You can call 1177 if you have questions:

• About your symptoms.
• Whether you need medical care.
• Where to seek care.
• How urgent your condition may be.

The nurse can also provide self‑care advice and arrange a call‑back if needed.

You may also call 1177 if you require urgent dental care when your regular dental clinic is closed.
