Welcome to Akademiska sjukhuset

When you arrive, please check in and pay for your visit using a self-service terminal at the entrance or clinic reception. At entrances 10, 70 or 100–101, staff can assist you with check-in and payment.

Rescheduling your appointment

You may reschedule your appointment once (twice for children under 16) to avoid being removed from the waiting list. If you do not attend your appointment or cancel less than 24 hours before your visit, you will be charged a fee for a missed appointment.

Assistive Devices and Interpreter Services

Please bring any assistive devices you need for your visit. If you require an interpreter for language, hearing or visual support, contact the ward or clinic well in advance of your appointment.

Free Medical Travel on UL Buses and Trains

If you live in Uppsala County, you can travel free of charge with UL to and from a scheduled appointment with us. You can download your medical travel ticket in the UL app under "Other tickets". The ticket is valid on all UL buses and trains for both you and one accompanying person.

The medical transport bus stops at entrances 85 and 100–101. Call 0771-99 90 00 to book a seat. This is also the number to call if you have a certificate from a healthcare professional authorising another form of travel to your appointment.

Read about medical travel on ul.se.(Swedish website) .

If you live in another county or region, please contact your region for information about medical travel to a scheduled appointment at Uppsala University Hospital.

Personal Data and Samples

Each time you are in contact with healthcare services, information about you is recorded. This information is necessary to ensure that you receive safe and high-quality care. The information may only be accessed by authorised personnel.

Information from your medical records may be included in a national quality registry to help improve healthcare services. When you provide samples as part of your care, some samples may be stored in a biobank.
