Our services
Examples of procedures performed include cleft lip and palate surgery, breast reconstruction, skin grafting for severe burns, surgery for facial injuries, correction of jaw misalignment and insertion of dental implants. We treat both children and adults. We accept patients from all over the country, but especially from central Sweden.
Specialised doctors and nurses work in teams around each patient to provide high quality care and treatment. The team members are well trained. For us, it is important that care is characterised by respect, security, continuity and safety.
Our professional values influence all care.

The Skoog Visiting Professorship
Tord Skoog (1915-1977) was the founder of the plastic surgery department in Uppsala in 1951 and was appointed the first full professor of plastic surgery in Scandinavia in 1961.
The department of plastic and maxillofacial surgery at Uppsala University Hospital has as an enduring legacy of Tord Skoog established the annual Skoog Visiting Professorship. The program of the visiting professor consists of a three-days visit to Uppsala University Hospital with teaching activities for residents and fellows, including a lecture at hospital ground rounds on the topic of clinical excellence of the candidate.
The selected candidate must have the Skoog’s spirit of excellence; to promote high level of education in plastic surgery and to continue to expand the horizons of our field.
