Akademiska Children’s Hospital Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Department – part of our services at the children’s hospital

For general information about our services, please visit the main page for the children’s hospital.

Our department is staffed by licensed occupational therapists and physiotherapists. We work as part of multidisciplinary teams together with other healthcare professionals to provide you with the best possible care. If you need support from an occupational therapist or physiotherapist, you or your guardian can contact the doctor or nurse at your ward or outpatient clinic. Healthcare staff can refer you to us. If your needs meet our referral criteria, we will schedule an appointment for an assessment.

About our department

As a child or adolescent, you can receive support to assess and improve your mobility, activity, and participation. We see patients who are admitted to a ward as well as those who are under the care of a physician at one of the children’s hospital outpatient clinics.

What we do

We assess and treat children and adolescents who need support with physical activity, everyday activities, or participation in different situations. You can also receive advice and try assistive devices that may make daily life easier. Our methods are based on research and many years of clinical experience.
