About the clinic

We support people with illnesses or injuries to be able to manage everyday activities as independently as possible. This may include training and treatment designed to make it easier to manage daily life at home, during leisure activities, in education, or at work. Our goal is to help you achieve greater independence and an improved quality of life.

To receive care at our clinic, you must have an ongoing contact with a ward or outpatient clinic at Uppsala University Hospital.

Before your appointment

• If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, you must notify us no later than 24 hours before the appointment. Appointments can be cancelled through 1177 or by telephone.
• Please note that a first appointment may only be cancelled twice. After that, the referral will be returned to the doctor who referred you.
• To attend an appointment at our clinic, you need a referral from a doctor affiliated with Akademiska sjukhuset.

Our occupational therapists take part in rehabilitation across many different specialist areas within the hospital. In some services, we are an active part of the multidisciplinary team around you as a patient. In others, we work more as consultants.

When you have been called for an appointment with us

1. Enter through Entrance 85.
2. Check in at the self-service arrival terminal. Please bring valid identification.
3. After checking in, take the stairs or lift down to the ground floor (BV), then turn left towards the Occupational Therapy Outpatient Clinic.
4. When you arrive at the clinic, please take a seat in the waiting area and we will come and collect you. Welcome!
