About our services
National Highly Specialised Care (NHV) is care that is complex or rare. The aim of concentrating this care is to enable the care provider to maintain the competence of the whole multidisciplinary team, to be able to develop and maintain good quality of care without limiting accessibility.
On 24 May 2023, a decision was taken on National Highly Specialised Care (NHV) for severe skin conditions, which means that from 1 July 2024, care will be concentrated in five hospitals. It covers the counselling, assessment, treatment and follow-up of people with severe skin symptoms, regardless of age, caused by, for example but not exclusively, blister dermatoses, reactions to medication, pyoderma gangrenosum and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Contact with a national entity should be initiated when one of the following criteria is met:
- Unclear diagnosis
- Conventional treatment is not effective enough.
