Regional cooperation in urology

Collaboration Board/Speciality Committees

Within the Uppsala-Örebro Region Collaboration Board (sjukvardsregionmellansverige.se ), there are a number of regional speciality committees whose task is to ensure safe care chains between the levels of care and to be specifically responsible for monitoring quality and results, with analysis of differences seen in quality registers. The Speciality Committees also support the introduction of evidence-based practices, act as a sounding board, plan for skills provision and are responsible for regional training programmes.

The Regional Urology Speciality Council is made up of the heads of the urological units in the region. They meet twice a year.

Regional Cancer Centre (RCC)

Seven county councils cooperate in cancer care through RCC Uppsala Örebro (cancercentrum.se ). Several care programme groups for different types of cancer with representatives from all county councils in the region. This is done in close cooperation with patient associations, which are also represented in the various care programme groups.

Training/regional meetings

Regular meetings are organised within the region involving urologists, nurses and secretaries from across the region. There are also agreements to give support with expertise across the region.

Procurement

Collaboration for the procurement of medical instruments takes place across the so-called seven-leaf clover (the regions of Dalarna, Gävleborg, Sörmland, Uppsala, Värmland, Västmanland and Örebro County) where there are steering and working groups consisting of representatives from clinics within the region.
