Paediatric neurology - for care providers
We assess and treat children with neurological disorders such as epilepsy, muscle diseases and brain injuries. We have a specialised team working to improve your child's health and quality of life.
About our services
Paediatric neurology includes paediatric neurology at the Uppsala University Hospital core area, the neurology clinic at Kungsgärdet Hospital and the medical activities within paediatric rehabilitation.
There is close cooperation between the different components. Work is largely carried out in multi-disciplinary teams.
Patients who come to us
The most common reasons for children and young people to see a paediatric neurologist are epilepsy, brain tumours (in close cooperation with the Paediatric Haematology and Tumour Section), nervous system injuries, neuromuscular diseases, nervous system malformations and various syndromes.
For the children and their families, there is access to hospital education, play therapy, clowns. Support is provided by counsellors, psychologists and, if desired, the hospital chapel.
