Clinical Genetics

The Rudbeck Laboratory at the University Hospital is one of Europe's foremost research centers for genetics and cancer. The department of clinical genetics, which is involved in prenatal diagnosis, diagnosis of congenital and acquired (cancer) genetic conditions, and genetic counseling, is based here. The clinical genetics department provides expertise on the prevention, diagnosis and monitoring of various genetic diseases. It also assesses genetic or suspected genetic diseases, and manages investigations and genetic counseling. Risk assessments for individuals who suffer from a specific disease, or their families, are provided.
