New employees
During the first few weeks in a new job you need to ask your manager and your new colleagues about most things, and there are many new impressions to take on board in a short time, as well as a considerable amount of information to process. In order to give you a good start and to make those first few weeks easier for you as a new employee at the University Hospital, we follow a carefully thought out introduction model.
We want you as a new employee to feel welcome, and to both enjoy your time here and develop on the job and in your new working team. That is why it is important that you are provided with the appropriate conditions for getting to grips with your duties and gaining a picture of the whole organisation of which your work and your division is a part. It is also important that your introduction provides you with opportunities to make contacts and gain knowledge about where to find useful information.
We know that you cannot take in everything at once, and that is why the introduction model is in several stages and stretches over a long period of time. The introduction programme is planned to take into consideration not only the knowledge you need to acquire but also the support you need from your manager and your colleagues. The programme also includes an introduction to the organisation’s procedures, culture and values.
The University Hospital induction model
After a while, when you have settled in and come to grips with your duties, you will be invited by your division to a meeting for new employees. You will meet the head of the division and other key people, and be given general information about the organisation, goals and activities of the division.
In order for you to gain an overall view of the organisation, you will then be given the opportunity to take part in a hospital-wide induction meeting. This will give you a chance to meet the hospital administrator and other key people. The purpose of this meeting is for you to obtain general information about both the hospital and outside factors that affect work at the hospital.
