Uppsala University Hospital is sufficiently big to be able to offer all the possibilities of a larger hospital but is also sufficiently intimate to be able to offer a welcoming and human environment with warm interrelationships among staff, patients and their families.

Because University Hospital is a training hospital, there is constant contact with young people on their way to a profession in the health care sector, people with views and ideas on how health care should develop.

Everyday life for some of the employees at University Hospital has been reflected in four seasons of the TV series The Hospital. The series has been a big success, with more than 400,000 viewers per episode.
