At the centre of life science
Uppsala University Hospital is one of several advanced institutions that combine to make Uppsala one of the top European centres for biomedicine and biotechnology, located just 20 minutes from Stockholm Arlanda international airport. Two universities with a total of 35,000 students and thousands of scientists are located in Uppsala.
Uppsala is also home to The Medical Products Agency, The National Food Administration and The National Veterinary Institute, and to a large number of research intensive health care and biotech companies - big, well-established companies as well as new, expansive ventures in the front-line of the technological and medical development.
